What it sounds like to me is that Walker had 5 days of vacation coming so the sheriff let him use his vacation at get paid rather than losing the 5 days.

I could be wrong but it sounds feasible to me.

  2. What a great place to work. If you are fortunate enough to get in with Smith and obtain a job you have no problems. Screw up and you get sent home to spend your pay sitting on your a$$. First Easterling and then Walker. Now, after the Sheriff stick his foot back in his mounth (an area that has been used consistantly for that purpose)he has reversed his position as stated in his moronic letter supporting Walker finding no wrong he now kicks Walker out. But forgets to quit paying him. Is that not a great place to work. If you do wrong Smith stamps it as okay and you get paid leave. Of course this all comes after the dumb a$$ realized he couldn't gloss over the scandal with Walker/Cisco.

  3. Yeah, Bob, that's what it sounds like to me too, but with Smith, you never know.

Does anyone know for sure if there might not be a P.O.S.T. rule that says when you fire a cop for cause, you MUST nmake a report to P.O.S.T.?

  4. I smell a rat and the wind is coming straight from the Sheriff's direction. Why not fire Walker on paper. Then he can do like he always does; wait until the heat dies down and bring him right back into the fold. He doesn't fool me for a second. I would bet a dollar to the Sheriff's box of donuts that there were some dirty dealings made with this one, so the Sheriff's dirty little secrets will stay buried.

  5. Its just like I stated in an earlier post, he might have fired him, but when a few days pass and the water cools he will bring him back just as he has done in the past with Easterling and Rob and a few others that have access to all his missgivens and wrong doing. Willie will CHA with every means possible, but somebody will get throwed under the Woodbine express, you can take that to the bank.

  6. Jay I would think you know better.

Bob they have to pay him for vacation regardless of being fired resigning or whatever. So this is not the reason

  7. Okay, so now that you've established in youy mind that your wisdom, intelligence, and sophistication all vastlly exceed mine, why not drop the other shoe and tell us the definitive answer as to why he is still on the payroll?

  8. Jay,

If an officer is fired. The firing agency has to notify P.O.S.T of the firing. Post will then investigate as to why the officer was fired.

  9. Thanks.

I felt fairly certain that I remembered that from visiting the P.O.S.T. website when the Walker/Cosco thing first came up.

I'll bet BTW's game plan was to try to sneak him by on the payroll until July 16th.

  10. Well Jay I never suggested that I was superior to you in wisdom or intelligence.

But, you have just proven your own self confidence problems by attacking me for pointing out something that you and all your vast wisdom should have known.

    All hail the great jay!!

I guess all the crap everyone says about you is true.

  11. So, you, in fact, have no actual knowledge of nor superior insight into why he is still drawing a paycheck - you just wanted to launch a niggardly attack against me.

I am shocked - simply shocked - to learn that you are not now, nor have you ever been, a fan.

Please keep it clean and reasonably civil. "Public figures" are fair game, consistent with the "actual malice" exception. I suggest you Google both terms before you go off half-cocked.
