I just got back. When I left, the place was still packed and people were still eating. When I arrived at 1735 - 5 minutes after the designated starting time - there were hardly any parking spaces left on the VFW property, grass included. When I left, cars were parked on both sides of the road in front of the VFW hall for about a city block.
There were no doubt more people at tonight's event than at all of Tommy's pre-primary events combined. If Mary Ann was out there writing down tag numbers, I don't think that any of tonight's crowd would have given a damn.
The Italian food was delicioso! Those two paisans can cook!
I wasn't too crazy about having to yell over the amped-up so-so singer-guitarist, but other than that, it was a really nice event.
