The Administrator's job is a tough 24/7 job with a lot of responsibility and a lot of headaches. His compensation sounds reasonable to me.
ReplyDeleteThat, of course, was the point I hoped to make to the boneheads who protest that our county administrator, Steve Howard, is grossly overpaid. He's actually a bargain for the money.
ReplyDeleteI think most people's contention regarding Steve Howard's salary refers to the fact that most other county employees do NOT get paid at rates that are comparable to other counties. The average Camden County employee is grossly underpaid, where as the administrator is not. I think if there was more equity across the board, people wouldn't be so passionate about his salary.
