Could such a fly-in community be in Camden's future?

    Not if the airport is relocated to the middle of nowhere.

    Exactly correct. Sea Island Company probably already has the plans laid out for the planned development that has the "new" airport as it's main feature.

    I think this is exactly what Camden may get with the relocation of the airport. Sea Islands Attorneys are lining up the private investors. I think this could be a profitable situation for those investing (privately) in the airport. I just haven't figured out what the taxpayers get.

    I just finished reading the transcript of the meeting which included several officials from St. Marys and the Attorney from Sea Island. The above post is accurate. The Attorney is soliciting "private investors" for the airport.

    I also recall a smart comment Bill Shanahan made in the Tribune stating "their might be some millionaires out there wanting to invest in the airport."

    Jay, you may be on to something with this fly-in community thing. I'm looking forward to hearing that you scooped everyone once again.

Please keep it clean and reasonably civil. "Public figures" are fair game, consistent with the "actual malice" exception. I suggest you Google both terms before you go off half-cocked.
