Chatham School Board holds the line on millage rate.
Chatham also has an ESPLOST. The ESPLSOT may only be used to fund capital improvements - not ongoing operating expenses. Those come from property tax assessments.
I know, but I don't think the people can afford a millage rate increase right now. The BOE gets more than their lions share from tax assessments. Before the BOE or any other board considers a millage rate increase they should streamline personnel. They are all currently in an excessive state.
I think it unlikely that they will increase the school millage rate. If they had intentions to dothat, they would not have asked for all of those early retirements and fired 4 teachers.
Please keep it clean and reasonably civil. "Public figures" are fair game, consistent with the "actual malice" exception. I suggest you Google both terms before you go off half-cocked.
I wonder if Camden County BOE will do the same. We are paying extra for ESPLOST.

ReplyDeleteJay, I sure hope your assumption is correct.
