McIntosh opening for Daniel due to death fo their chief appraiser.
"Mr. Barnes had a particular philosophy and a sense of humor, Davis said, that allowed him to flourish in an often contentious and difficult occupation.
"John always said if you do your job right in this field, you're not going to be liked," she said.
Chief appraisers, Mr. Barnes noted several months before his death, often get the blame when property taxes go up, but follow strict guidelines mandated by the state in assessing property value.
"We determine the value of the property," he said. "We don't set the millage rate."
Camden County just lost another good one in Rick Daniels. As one of if not the best in the field stated above. People who do their jobs in this field are NOT liked. Daniels did his job!! He cleaned up a horrid mess that was left in place by Doug Miles. Now Camden County will do as they do in most areas...... Start driving in reverse!!
Please keep it clean and reasonably civil. "Public figures" are fair game, consistent with the "actual malice" exception. I suggest you Google both terms before you go off half-cocked.
