Que pasa at St. Marys City Hall? Special called meeting for executive session ONLY Thursday afternoon.
Not mysterious. They're discussing personnel matters (hiring, firing, promotion, disciplinary actions, etc.)--one of the two reasons for shutting out the public. The other is consulting with attorneys, who may or may not be giving them bad advice.
The civil law is different from the criminal. If you don't contest, you lose. Judges render judgments by the dozens. In the old days, the system was used to "relieve" people of their homesteads and their farms. Nowadays it's all about money and everybody's equally liable to being deprived under cover of law. 'Cause it's all legal.
Well, duh! The "mystery" I was referring to is what is the personnel action that is so urgent that they could not hold off until their next regularly scheduled meeting.
Please keep it clean and reasonably civil. "Public figures" are fair game, consistent with the "actual malice" exception. I suggest you Google both terms before you go off half-cocked.
