Chinese national shipping line begins regular service from Far East to Savannah.

How, you might ask, does this relate to Camden? I try to keep y'all posted on port developments in Savannah, Brunswick, and Jax in the hope that some day, a light may go on in the heads of members of the JDA. http://savannahnow.com/node/724536

No, "Seapro," as usual, yuo have missed the point entirely. I was not advocating the establishment of a third Georgia seaport in Camden County.

The Port of Jcsonville has several maritime carriers who regularly run ships - and ro/ro barges -to the Caribbean and South America. Given that it is less than 2 hours by tractor-trailer form the Port of Savananh container berths to anywhere in Camden, ther is the possibility of a warehousing operation in Camden for transshipment and stateside distribution of products from the Far East.

Moreover, shipping lines don't like to make deadhead runs with little to no cargo in either direction. If we could land a manufacturer of a consumer product with a market in the far East, they could make it here and ship it to the Far East (and Europe) via Savannah and to Caribbean and SA via Jax.

Exactly - or even off of Hwy 17 or in some of that pulp acreage off of Hwy 40 west of Kingsland.
