The purpose of this blog is to provide the author, Jay Moreno, with an outlet to comment upon items of socio-political and socio-economic import in Camden County, Georgia and to generally satisfy a daily compulsion to write.
HISTORIC WATERFRONT, ST. MARYS, GA.
Everytime make headlines like this you miss another sector of the voting population. This isn't Birds problem this is everybodys problem. I'm glad he has sense enough to see this for what it is. A Deb Hase real estate scheme. Same thing with the editorial in the Tribune and Georgian today. She got busted negotiating a real estate deal contradictory of the sunshine law because she is toooo busy fleecing the taxpayers.
I am not the original poster who may know something I don't. Personally, I do not know how the taxpayers are being fleeced because it was a closed meeting. One might argue that it was closed so that we could not know about the fleecing.
I don't support an illegal closed meeting, even if it was due to a misinterpretation of the qualifiying types of real estate maters which mjay be discussed in executive session.
As to your allegations against Councilwoman Hase, by all means bring them to the DA if you have proof. I've seen no evidence of any unethical behavior on her part.
The Sunshine Law Handbook is very clearly written. The city holds regular sunshine law training. There is little latitude for "misinterpretation." We do, however, have some on the city council who continually use the executive session to hide themselves from public scrutiny.

See it for what it is.....
As to your second sentnece, I disagree with ytour conspiracy theory.
As to the meeting, it does appear that they misinterpreted the law.
Please explain, sunshine violation not withstanding, how the taxpayers were being fleeced in that meeting.

Deb Hase spells trouble for St. Marys.
She IS fleecing the community for her self-interest with the airport issue and the backroom deal with the developer.
You are probably one of about 10 or less that believes she isn't doing something sinister.
But continue supporting her antics!! It's definitely your campaign to lose.
