"Sheriff's actions taking toll on deputies."
From today's T&G editorial:

I don't doubt it a bit. Hopefully, all of the decent deputies will be the first in line on July 15th to vote BTW out.

very ,very, true
I am sure that is the truth. After having worked for Smith you are not going to be a big plus on the job market. Plus a lot of those guys are just croonies for Smith and no other law enforcement agency would want any of that bunch. Smith is tianted and so is the rest.
THAT STATEMENT CANNOT BE FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH. THERE ARE SOME DAMN FINE PEOPLE WORKING FOR BTW, NOT EVERYONE IN HIS ORGANIZATION IS CORRUPT. I USED TO BE ONE OF THOSE DEPUTIES AND THERE ARE SOME HONEST AND MORALE PEOPLE UP THERE. AS FAR AS THEM VOTING HIM OUT, THEY WOULD BE BETTER SERVED BY NOT VOTING AT ALL. BY THAT I MEAN THAT BTW WILL CHECK THE BALLOTS TO SEE WHO WAS LOYAL AND WHO WAS NOT! HE HAS DONE IT IN THE PAST. THERE WERE 13 OF US WHO LOST OUR JOBS BECAUSE OF HIS BS IN THE PAST. YEAH THE BALLOTS ARE SUPPOSSED TO BE CONFIDENTIAL,BUT LOOK WHO WE ARE DEALING WITH HERE! COME ON YOU CAN'T BE THAT NAIVE!
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The poll workers have not beeen able to keep track of who voted for whom since the introduction of voting machines, years ago - if they were ever actually able to at all.
However, for those of you "damned outsiders" who may not be aware of it, this has been a persistent and well cultivated rumor in Camden County for generations.
Think about it: back in the days of King Gilman, if the Gilman-approved politicos could convince the totally mill dependent and not particularly sophisticated locals that they - through their lackey poll workers and "judges" could keep track of how they voted, it was a simple matter of installing the candidates of their choice through intimidation at the polls. No "correct" vote - no mill job for you or, if not you, a relative at the mill.
This might sound preposterous, but I know it for a fact from personal observation. Once, not long after I arrived here in 1993, I actually heard two women I recognized as perrennila poll workers at the old union hall in St. Marys sitting in the Cruddle House on Spur 40 and talking - in overly loud voices - about how they could tell how folks voted down at their polling place.
Now, as to the last poster, the choices are that to this day, he actually beleives that, or, he is a pro_BTW Thuggie trying to pu the fear of God_Willie into all of the current deputies and their extended families.
And no, Sir, where BTW is concerned, there is not a naive bone in my body.
Jay I don't care to get into a pissing contest with you about being a BTW Thuggie. I asure you Sir, I am not. All I know is this: I am a "Damned Outsider" and I was asked personnally why I voted against the Sheriff when I was in his employ. So if BTW even thinks for one second that one of his employees voted against him, they will be out on the street. The irony was I actually registered to vote in order to vote for him in that particular election. He chose to speculate as to how I voted. A short time later I was quizzed by one of the upper ecelon as to why had voted against BTW. Although, I told him the truth and despite the fact that I had never had any disciplinary problems during my employment, the Sheriff (with Charlie as his mouthpiece)terminated my services, due to a so called "Restructering" of the Sheriff's Office. The truth was so he could hire his Durango Buds and make room for his bimbets.
