Its sad really! When the focus is more about football than learning. Now that the Head Football Coach is also the Athletic Director; we may never get another high school. I guess we should be grateful that we as taxpayers have ONLY spent about 3 million dollars assisting in building the football dynasty.
what dynasty? 1 championship !!! yes, we will be in playoffs but look who we play camden plays in the ACC while the champions play in the SEC. look at ncaa also osu usc all good records but the champs are in sec.
need to put it to a vote of where our money is spent football or learning.
Is that why the upper georgia teams have no respect for Camden although they are ranked #2 in the state. Why would anyone chose to play in a sorry region?
The paper said today that they are number 16 in the nation.
Did anyone pay attention to the wording used in talking about the purchase of 20 acres for the new school. Gary Blount"Assistant Superintendant" personnally surveyed the property. Will Hardin influence the Board to purchase this in a close door meeting. What's up with that.....
No. I read it in a hurry today as I had beau coup errands to run.
I did notice one thing, however. Once again, as usual, the T&G writer has failed to tell me where-in-the-hell something in the local news is located - at least so that the majority of us will have a clue. From memory, I think it was stated that the new school property is in "Camden Woods."
Someone said it is behind Camden Woods Shopping Plaza in Kingsland. That would be behind Publix and the land was purchased from Rayonier for $500,000.00. They also mentioned at the board meeting that they will build the school with SPLOST money (because the taxpayers don't understand SPLOST so they will vote for it. The taxpayers would be outraged at the thought of elevating school taxes to build a tenth elementary school.
I guess this is good logic, because the voters voted to allow the school system the money to build a turf field, fancy coaching offices, theater room and a million dollar weight room.

But yet we refuse to build another high school. How big are they planning to let that place get? Oh I forgot, it's all about football.
