The purpose of this blog is to provide the author, Jay Moreno, with an outlet to comment upon items of socio-political and socio-economic import in Camden County, Georgia and to generally satisfy a daily compulsion to write.

This does not supprise me at all! And for Rob to use the county car to continue with his "business" while he is also on the clock. Can't wait till Jan 01,2008 to see Tommy CLEAN HOUSE....
Are you sure of this? Talk about kicking you while you're down! He expects every employee to give up 40 hours but he doesn't have to. If he was a TRUE man and a TRUE leader he would voluntarily give back whatever he makes for a week. But as we all know he is a worthless piece of crap!
From Gordon Jackson's article: "The minimum salaries for sheriffs and other elected officials in Georgia is set by state law, which has no provisions for leave or vacation."
I would take that to mean that BTW has the perfect cover to claim that he is "forced," by state law, to take his full salary.
Yep! Ol'Captain Chicken Choker was seen dropping his chillin's off at the Homecoming game last Friday night in his County funded transportation machine. We'll sho miss you guys, come January ...Not! It's really going to be nice to not to have to worry about deception and malfeasance anymore. I do believe that you mean Jan 01,2009, if I may be so bold as to correct you.
Not sure how to word this... could be good news for some or a slap in the face for others..... apparently the employees that are classified as " 911 Employess" have just received a 3% pay raise across the board... Why would you give one division a raise, and tell the other divisions to take a week off without pay? That's right forgot which (blonde, female) ran the 911 center, or better yet who sits in her office and acts like it.... Jay you should look into what Chief Gailey stated in a committee meeting concerning the center when it onlys has 3 people working... only two if one has to use the facilities.....12 hrs with no breaks, or any relief makes for weary operators.... could spell LIABILITY to the county.... It is bound to happen.... Hurry up Jan we need H.S. back as the director at least she did stand up for her employees instead of bow down.. for more than one reason

Apprently, state law requires that he always be paid his full slary, irrespective of how mis amd malfeasant his job performance - or lack thereof.

It's a shame that state law does not require that the sherrif be available when needed...which has been the case most of the time he's been in office.
This law pertains to all constitutional officers. No matter whether they actually go to work or not, their salary remains the same once elected.
