The purpose of this blog is to provide the author, Jay Moreno, with an outlet to comment upon items of socio-political and socio-economic import in Camden County, Georgia and to generally satisfy a daily compulsion to write.
HISTORIC WATERFRONT, ST. MARYS, GA.
Stephen Kelley is an honorable and just. public servant we would do well to have as Judge. His intergity and character is only qestioned by those who become foul with the law. Of course a criminal brought to the court has no acceptance of responsibilty. Those of us who take the responsible route in society will be good with Stephen on the bench.
His "conviction" rate. I now realize why he and his staff will refuse to prosecute many case and those that they do will get pled down to the smallest misdomenor. Drug charges are a prime example..nole pros, nole pross. But, if that same person is charged with the same crime again in another district, he will most likely get convicted. The D.A.'s office will only take the sure cases, not the ones that require any work. Then, those will be allowed to be pled down to almost speeding and probation. But hey, a conviction is a conviction when someone is only looking at that, right? He may have a 94% conviction rate but take a look at how many criminals have been taken off the street of that 94%. But, like I said, a conviction is a conviction when you don't care about the case.
Those of us that are connected with criminal justice system know that Stephen Kelley is a good and honorable D.A. that stands head and shoulders above what we have had. Many cases need to plead and be resovlved with fines and probation. Who ever says this circuit is different from others is full of it.

I have complaints against Stephen Kelley but if I voiced them..I know I would be crucified. So, just suffice it to say, I have no use for him.
Not very often that one sees an anonymous crucifixion.
