The purpose of this blog is to provide the author, Jay Moreno, with an outlet to comment upon items of socio-political and socio-economic import in Camden County, Georgia and to generally satisfy a daily compulsion to write.

Jay, Did you know that Bill Gross was on the advisory board that implemented these fees? He suggested that we do it and now he wants them repealed? Come on Charlene, be honest with us. Why did you get these developers to write these letters?
No, I did not, but that explains a lot. No doubt, when he realized that the public sentiment was behind implementing the fees, he got on the inside to influnce the setting of the fees. What no one, except maybe Sandy Feller, has mentioned is that when you compare our fees to others in nearby by Georgia and Florida counties, they are the lowest around.
As to why Charlene solicited the letters, I'm sure we all know why.
Jay, if you remember when the impact fee package was submitted to the commissioners for their approval, the commissioners did not accept the fees as were drawn up. Rather they approved a percentage of the fees, I believe like 60% and they were to bring it up to 100% in the next two years. I may be wrong about the time frame. But they did not accept the fees as they were drawn up. So naturally we are behind times and going backwards with Sear, Keene, Zell, and Rainer at the controls. David Rainer has always been a tax and spend elected official at the School board and Commissioner's position.
