In that 60% of the people in St. Marys recycle each week (the curbside bins) and Woodbine, Kingsland, St. Marys and the County issued Earth Hour proclamations last year (and this year) Jay needs to realize that he's turning off a huge number of voters with his constant, kindergarten-level "eco-weenie" garbage.(My apologies to the average 5 year old kindergarten student...most of them are more mature than Jay).
Now, here is a dose of the truth about recycling that is well known to all economists, but the typical gutless politician is afraid to tell the leftist Green eco-weenies.

It never ceases to amaze me how difficult it is to convince some folks that I very rarely open my mouth before knowing all of the facts. While recycling household waste makes the uninformed feel all warm and fuzzy, it makes no economic sense currently. It might make sense a hundred years from now when it might make economic sense to mine old, decayed landfills for then more scarce and more valuable materials. Moreover, it makes no ecological sense now, given the ready availability of landfill space for hundreds of years into the future and current, environmentally sound, landfill technology. Folks, if it takes lying to you to "earn" your vote, I guess I'll have to make do without it.

The way Kingsland runs its recycling program it generates revenue. St. Marys on the other hand run their program in a way thats costly and environmentally unsafe. Once their recyclables are collected they'e taken to the landfill and dumped.
So, are you telling me that someone actually cuts Kingsland a check for their waste which exceeds the cost of collecting it?
For one Kingsland does'nt pick up, if anyone is interested they have to deliver to a drop off point. Large items such as refrigerators, etc. They sell by the truck loads for a profit.
Then why the reason of the recycling program in St. Marys if the separated trash is simply thrown in a landfill? Why is it not taken to a recycling plant?
The recycled material from St. Marys is taken to a recycling depot. I suggest that you contact Lanny Brandt (Camden County Landfill) or Mryon Thomas (Advanced Disposal) if you have concerns or questions.
