What was he smoking? I know what he is trying to do. Gain the undecided Hillary votes. This is still a risky move. I hope it pays off.. I still question this move.

My co-worker just moved back to Charlton County from Alaska. She said the governor has been very well liked in Alaska.

Sure, she will garner a few female votes. She's photogneic enought o garner a few male votes. But if President McCain dies, can she really prosecute the fights in Iraq and Afghanistan and stand up to Putin?

What are her chances of succeeding President McCain after his second term?

I agree - "risky move."

I am a Republican and I have been questioning things all year!

Desperate people do desperate things! This decision is a prime example of that. The democrats are going to trounce all over the fact that she was second runner-up for Miss Alaska which propelled her plotical career.

Got home from work and have been watching the talking heads and saw some clips on the new VP pick...well, maybe it is that "Pollyanna" Jay acuses me of but the more I see the more I like her. She may be a good compliment for McCain.

Hey Jay...Wake UP!

Or...are you down at the riverfront standing in line for the first ferry run of the day?

Hope you have decided to take a break and find a tree to hug and possibly have a picnic under. While you are there...try laying flat on your back and looking up through the branches to see the sky...bet you hadn't done that since you were a kid! Smile

24 hours of coverage on new VP pick -Sarah from Alaska- and have not heard a negative comment yet even on CNN? Looks like she is the kind of woman that is capable of doing all things...maybe I will cast a vote this year!

Why is it that most of you assume just because she is a woman she hasn't got the intestinal fortitude to put her hand on the little red button and pull the trigger? This woman is a no non-sense lady that if given the chance will get the job done. Personally I think McCain stepped right up and stoled ole Obama's thunder with this move. She wasn't even on the radar as being a choice. She is not only attractive, she is a very strong and intelligent woman. Besides look at George Bush. A third grader would be an improvement on the intelligence scale and look how long he has managed to hang in there. So before assuming she can't handle the job, why not give her a chance to prove she can. She certainly beats the alternative.

I agree with you. I think McCain's choice of Sarah is terrific! From all I have seen so far, she is a very "classy lady" very capable of doing any task put before her.

Don't you know...Hillary has smoke coming out of her ears...LOL

I speak as a aunt of a child with down syndrome. It is a full time job for my sister. I believe first and foremost that the 4 month old child will be neglected. Secondly, she is currently under investigation. Most importantly, I agree with Jay, McCain is 72 years old with four bouts with cancer. I could not imagine her going up against people like Putin. She seems very nice, she's attractive but do we really want her a heart beat away from the Commander in Chief position.

She has never really traveled outside of Alaska, born and raised there. Launched her political career on a failed attempt at Miss Alaska. The popularity from this propel her to the City Council, elevated her to Mayor and projected her into the Governorship. She has a BS in journalism.

Yes this choice has alot of buzz but we are talking about electing her to the Vice Presidency of the United States of America.

I voted for Bush, I don't think I would sleep well if I voted for McCain and was left with Palin as the President. which could possibly happen considering his age and health. I would have preferred that he chose Governor Crist or Mitt Romney. Either of them would have been excellent choices. I would have certainly voted for those tickets.

Jay...how bout a new poll to see what people think about Sarah Palin?

Jay Moreno said...

Okay, I'll do a poll.

I'll also start a thread over on my rarely used forum.

Pollyanna said...

Oh...you have a forum too??? Where is that?

I too am an Aunt of a Downs
child. The fact that this lady has accomplished so much in spite of this terrible disease, is a testimate of how strong she really is. I don't think her child will suffer as a result of her being V.P. and to say so is truely absurd. But you go ahead and let the gum thumpers such as Oprah Winfrey brain wash you into thinking that Obama is the best thing since sliced bread. Personally, I would much rather my fate be placed with Ms Palin anyday before placing it in the hands of the unqualified Media driven hero Senator from Illinois.

In regards to the children being neglected...it appears that Sarah's husband has been an excellent caregiver for the children. We are seeing more reversed roles today...back in 1976 my husband was "Daddy Homemaker" for our daughter during her first year...he did a better job than I could have...baked homemade sour dough bread and kept the house spotless along with immaculate care of our newborn. Not to mention, they will have a great deal of professional help with the children and be an advocate for families. I think having a young family in the White House is a breath of fresh air!

Special to the Democrat whop worked so hard this afternoon cutting and pasting all of the vicious crap about Governor Palin from the various, despicable, leftist blogs: You did not really beleive that I would publish that vile crap, did you?

Just for the record, I am one of those right wing, love-America-firster, pro-defense, gun toting, campaign contributing, anti-redistributionist, pro-FairTax, Republicans who will vote for the McCain-Palin ticket.
