Here is the website e-mailed to the St.Marys mayor and council and city attorney by Bob Nutter, who apparently works hand-in-hand with Alex Kearns and Barbara Ryan.

IRV is bad for voters, bad for democracy. I see you posted a link to www.ncvoter.net/irv I wanted to speak up as the owner of that site and say that I went on to create a website dedicated just to research, news etc about the problems with IRV.
http://www.instantrunoffvoting.us/
IRV is complex and there hasn't been a formal organization working to educate the public about its problems.
Ironically, places that adopt often end up hiring IRV advocacy groups to run their elections for them, making IRV a turnkey operation.
I can tell you that while IRV has been promoted as the "liberal" or "progressive" thing to do, that there are plenty of liberal or progressive people who don't like IRV and who oppose it.
But you are right, IRV is the "latest", more or less a fad, like astroturf.
Instant Runoff Voting sounds like a viable election method. I have read some favorable comments. Of course there are unfavorable too, but it appears that they may all come from one persons blog. What I am seeing is a growing number of acceptance and one individual on a campaign to fight IRV. I will keep reading.
