HISTORIC WATERFRONT, ST. MARYS, GA.
Fried fish, fried okra, fried summer squash, french fries, fried green tomatoes, fried deer meat, fried shrimp, fried pork chops, fried pickles, I know I'm forgettin somethin, help me out here, then let's go to lunch!
back in the days of butcher shops, my Grandmother Moreno used to batter and fry a batch of pig tails. The original "curly fries" -and way tastier.
I miss my mother's crispy, breaded and fried tripe.
Then there's fried eggplant.
Back when there was such a thing as ice trays, my mother would occasionally make a double recipe of grits one morning and freeze the excess in an ice tray. The next morning, she would pop out the grits cubes and fry them in bacon grease. Crispy and yummy.
