The purpose of this blog is to provide the author, Jay Moreno, with an outlet to comment upon items of socio-political and socio-economic import in Camden County, Georgia and to generally satisfy a daily compulsion to write.

Hey, Jay. What's next? Smith out; Gregory in. I assume the time between now and Jan 1 will be a little uncomfortable for all. CSO employees, travelers on 95 and around the county. Plenty of real estate and residents upon whom the rage of a beaten sheriff can be meted. Assuming the legal process drags on, what will a lame duck sheriff do over the next 6 months to the CSO and the residents? Budget process? Personnel? Hiring? Staffing? Jail needs - expansion (STG - Sheriff Tommy Gregory: suggest you bring the residents of Woodbine into the discussion and decision process real early this time. Check with the mayor of Woodbine to see what happens when you try to slide through a master plan without current input from residents.) Implementation process of STG's plan? Should STG resign at some point (say Oct 1) and work exclusively on his campaign or transition plan? As much as I like Gamble, I don't see a write in working. STG ought to go to Gamble and get him onboard his team and really make a strong CSO leadership team. Gamble is a good man, and if he has real character, maybe he will help make CSO among the best in the nation. Should STG give Kingsland more campaign time or should he go on non-paid leave? What will you be doing now? Just waiting? Suggestion: get rid of the thuggie/BS stuff like gloating and bringing up tangential comparisons like the Starbucks comparison et al Lot of comments are silly and full of grade school gotchas. (Woods column was good)You held Smitty's feet to the fire. Now it is time to do the same to Sheriff Gregory and the commissioners who have also been part of the problem. (I did vote for Gregory; probably more a vote against that a vote for. Risky, but what else was there to do?) So, what's next? Just a thought....

No punches pulled here! As the old saying goes;He made his bed,let him lay in it. He just out and out lied when he couldn't cover something up. I don't believe that we have to worry about his BS any longer. Way to go CAMDEN!
