Dispelling more ESPLOST ignorance.
http://www.tribune-georgian.com/articles/2009/02/27/opinion/letters/02letter2.27.txt
Take a look at the last sentence in the above linked letter-to-the-editor. I should have known ignorance was at the root of the opposition to ESPLOST. Opponents, if you will take the time to research it in the O.C.G.A., you will find that the ONE cost associated with more roofs which, BY LAW, CAN NOT be paid for by impact fees is EDUCATIONAL EXPENSES of any kind, to include new schools or operational funding for school systems. Please people, do your homework.
P.S., Someone commented the other day that they had only just recently built another wing onto the Camden Middle School, ergo they hardly needed any more space. I went back and checked the plaque on the wall of that "new" wing today. It was dedicated in 1993 - 16 years ago. And we all know there has been little to no growth in the number of middle schoolers in Camden for the last 16 years!
