Let me get this straight: You can no longer go on line anonymously to get the numbers, but if you will call the assessors office and identify
yourself, they will give them to you over the phone? Verry interesting!

Subject: Property tax information
You have read about new property tax evaluation numbers that appeared on the http://www.camdencountymaps.com/ county website. The Tax Assessor’s Office (576-3241) has characterized these figures as “working numbers” These re-evaluation figures disappeared form the website. So, many, many folks simply didn’t have the advantage of seeing the “working numbers”.
The Board of Tax Assessors has agreed to release these numbers if you will call their office. They ask that you have your parcel number ready and you can obtain the parcel number at http://www.camdencountymaps.com/.
The valuation number shown for your property may not be the same as the sneak preview “working number” that the Tax Assessor’s Office will provide you. They can explain the concept of “working numbers”.

Note from Jay: Y'all definitely want to click on the above link and watch the video of Steve Berry's comments at the last CCBOC meeting. I was there. He was spot on. Anyone know who the proprietor(s) of this blog is/are? Looks promising.

Most folks will not have their parcel numbers and the information to determine if the evaulation is correct is the other adjoining parcels and similar property. That is a hair brain solution and is not what you need. One of the grounds for an appeal is uniformity. You will not have that information. They need to post the damn numbers that were removed. Those numbers were being used, were put together by the appraisers and would still be there but the hell raising. Don't settle in and let them blind side you. Demand they post those numbers. We sure as hell paid for some one to come up with them. It is a trick.
Now that is a good point. I thought we only had a short time to address all this and this would make it almost impossible for us to do what we have to. I say show up at the work session and let them hold it. Solve the problem. Don't talk around it.
