Thursday of last week, I reported that there were a total of 37 applicants for the JDA Director position. The last date for submission was last Tuesday. Well, I was informed this morning that over the next couple of days, more applications arrived which had been POSTMARKED by 3/10 and were therefor added to the spread sheet of applicants. It turns out there are now 47 applicants. Interestingly, the number of LOCAL applicants rose from 8 to 13. Apparently, local mail service is worse than I realized! I'm going to give you the new spreadsheet, minus the columns that list names and current positions. What you will see are. from left to right, city and state of residence; professional certification, if any; bachelor's degree (if any); and master's degree (if any). I wish that I could ethically share with you my knowledge of what these various candidates are currently doing for a living. It would be perfectly obvious to you, as it is to me, that not one of the local candidates can hold a candle to the vast majority of the out-of-town applicants by virtue of education and, especially, by virtue of their current occupations. Many of the out-of-towners are currently employed recruiting businesses. I can only conclude that based upon the past occupants of the seat - hired by this current board - the locals thought "Hey, what the hell , if it's going to be another GB appointment, I might just as well throw my resume at them - even if it is clearly a "hail Mary pass." The JDA Board will be having their first meeting (that we know of) since receiving the resumes and this spread sheet (prepared by County Administrator, Steve Howard) tomorrow - Friday, 20 March - at 9:30 AM at the County Annex next tot he Camden County Public Library on Gross Road. I'll be there to encourage them to finally do the right thing and hire an aggressive winner. Hope to see some of y'all there as well.

Jay, the list is public knowledge, and if you have the names you surely could list them for all of us to see.
Yes, the list is a public record. However, I have opted not to publish the names. You do not see the T&G or the GTU doing that, do you? It just isn't done. Why? Because it would not be fair to those individuals to potentially jeopardize their jobs with their current employers by letting the cat out of the bag. Remember, if you Google Camden Commentary, it pops right up. This blog is read occasionally by people from all over the country. Someone from London even checked it out the other day.
If you want to know that badly, call and ask for the list.
When it gets down to the finalists, those names will likely be published.
