I think the guy was doing a great job from what I hear from family who lives in that area. The problem they have there is just as bad or worse than here. Everyone wants to employ their family and friends.
The County Manager stood up to the Sheriff and told him he could'nt afford to hire anymore right now. The Sheriff then went and convinced all the other Constitutional Officers that they needed to get rid of the County Manager so that they could hire who they dam well please.
Could you imagine a hiring freeze being put on family members/friends of elected officials in Camden County
Actually, I figured as much as soon as I read it. My cut line was more of a dig at those red-necked, Luddite, Camden GOBs who are critical of Mr. Howard per se and his salary, in particular. Remember, our GOB commission has dispatched a couple of county managers for trying to do their jobs as well.
