St. Marys Lions Club.

I remember reading in the T&G that there had been one stood up in St. Marys in June. Anyone know how membership is coming along and if they have any ideas for an annual even like the Kingsland chapter does with their oyster roast?  There must be some other local critter to be cooked.

What does the Woodbine chapter do, by the way? I'm pretty sure they sponsor something, but I can't remember what. I don't think it's the Crawfish Festival.

Dunno how the club is doing, but, with USPS Postmaster and Camden's biggest AH Mike Swain as President, I'll never have anything to do with them.

His name rings a bell: was he the St. Marys postmaster in 1995?

the park in woodbine used to be called (still is) the Lions Park. Don't know if they had anything to do with the park, but the park was transferred to the PSA and was scheduled for improvement. other parks in the county have been improved. the woodbine park has not. wonder what is up with that?

The St Marys LIONS Club was actually sponsored by the Woodbine Club. The Woodbine Club was one of the original founders and sponsores of the Crawfish Festival. The Local Clubs mainly Sponsor and raise $ for the Georgia Camp for the Blind in Ware County and the Ga Lighthouse Foundation. Their main goal is to do as Helen Keller challenged in 1929, "To be the knights for the blind".
