Time is running out!
Next Monday, June 16th, is the last day to register to be able to vote in the July 15th primary.
Remember, whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, if you have had enough of Bill Smith, you need to come out on July 15th and vote for Tommy Gregory in the primary. That will NOT preclude your voting for Independent, Rich Gamble, in November, if you so desire. It will, however, rid us of Bill Smith once and for all.
Hopefully, he will move to Charleston, never to be seen or heard of again in Camden County.

Amen on getting hoghead willie out in july
Jay, do you know how long you have to be a resident of this county to be allowed to register to vote?
well, if the window for registering to vote closes 30 says before the next election, it would follow logically that you would have had to be living ion the district at least 31 days prior to the date of the next election.
Any other restriction would seem intuitively unconstitutional, but I may be wrong. It's 8:25 now. When the registrar's office opens, I'll call and find out for you.
I do believe that when you are already registered and move to another voting precinct, you are required to notify the regsitrar's office within 30 days.
Okay, I just got off of the phone with the registrar's oiffice (576-3245).
My intuition was correct. There is no minimun amount of time you have to live here to register to vote, with the caveat that to vote in a fgiven election, you have to register at least 30 days in advance.
Also, you need to let the registrar's office know if you were previously registered (within Camden County) but have moved to another precinct. CAUTION: If you've moved but have not yet informed the registrar's office, you MUST DO SO BY JUNE 16th in order to vote in your new precinct on July 15th.
Thanks so much Jay for your info on registering to vote.
You're quite welcome.
