Oh, the irony!

I was just reading the list of prospective Camden County Grand Jurors published in today's T&G. Apparently, justice is not only blind, but totally oblivious. Under the Es, one finds Gina Evanson.

Again you are absolutely correct. It was also amazing to me the amount of born and breed people who sit on the Grand Jury. But when I saw Gina name my mouth just dropped! How can this possibly be, we all ask.

If any of you had any sense at all (or knew the law) you would know that a person cannot be on the grand jury, back to back, in the same year. If you recall she was on it from Nov 07-Apr 08.

Yep - you got us: incontrovertable truth that we don't have "any sense at all."

I'm betting you're the only one in the county who does, right?

From Nov 07 - Apr 08 and Nov-08- April 09 is not back to back, there is 6 months in between. And oh yes they can, just ask Bruce Peavy, he use to get picked all the time like that.
Interesting how the "computer"!! always picks the same people. I have lived here all my life and have never received notice to serve on any jury. And I VOTE!!!!!
So I do not believe the old story that the computers pick at random.

If you don't have a fair judicial system what do you have? It doesn't take a rocked scientist to figure out that these people are not being selected via random computer methods. When will the madness ever stop? I know because one of my neighbors Barbara King (St. Marys) use to also serve as a permanent fixture on the Grand Jury.

To clarify some of this topic, on my behalf. I personally received my summons for Grand Jury on a Friday afternoon in my PO Box in Woodbine and on Tuesday of the following week I walked into Superior Court and spoke with Susan Waldron. My intention was to ask to be dismissed from the Jury because of previously serving and also it interferred with my college schedule. Ms. Waldron informed me that it was a mistake and that because I had just served, 6 months prior, that I would not be able to serve again. She was going to immediately take my name off this list for the scheduled Grand Jury summons. Im not sure how the computer system works either but I have been a registered voter for 9 years and Nov 07 was the first time I was ever picked for any type of Jury duty/Grand Jury. When I received my summons in Nov 07, it was in the name of Gina Russell-my maiden name. On the first day of reporting for Grand Jury in Nov 07, I had them change it. So this time when I received my summons it was in the name of Gina Evanson, which I have been for 7 years now. Maybe that was why I got picked twice, the change of my last name, I really can not answer that question. All I can tell you is that I DID NOT have to report for Grand Jury with this term. Thank you!

You feel better now, Jay? Thank you for clarifying that Gina.
