Hes gonna force in a county police dept to ye heard?? (Feller writing now)there are only two people who opt for police consolidation, first com. berry and second his protege jm. this matter has beed discussed by st marys in great detail, they even spent 14,000.00 for a consultant. u of ga? they came to the same conclusion. there is no money to be saved by consolidation of police forces and the sheriff's dept. i might add, kingsland said "no dice" in no uncertain terms. methinks jm is running out of things to say and links to post.
Kingfish, the people rejected merging with a CCSO run by your close personal friend (apparently) Bill "Big Thug Willie" Smith. The possible future consolidation I'm talking about would be with a Camden County Police Department, with a chief answerable to the CCBOC, not the governor. That there would be savings available from elimination of a top heavy command structure is self evident. The prior rejection had everything to do with an inherent distrust of Bill Smith and a misplaced since of "civic pride" on the part of some citizens of the cities who had not really thought it through and were not then faced with the economic downturn we are in now and will be for a while to come. Just curious: you are great at pooh poohing others' ideas, but have you ever come up with any serious ones of your own that were not immediately dismissed by the public as silly and transparently self serving? My personal favorite was the time you stood up in a St. Marys City Council meeting, and with a perfectly straight face, offered to pay the last $60,000 of the nearly $1 million dollar purchase price of the Howard Gilman Waterfront Park if the the city would simply name the park after your late father. Yeah, ol' buddy, you've really got that "vision" thing going for you. Feel free to respond here. You are, of course, not "banned" as you have claimed. If you can't figure out how to get your name on a comment, just send it with no capital letters. We will all recognize it.
