Councilman Sidney Howell reportedly loses it, goes off on wife's political opponent, police called.

This just in from a previously reliable source:

Reportedly, earlier today, at a St. Marys business, St. Marys City Councilman, Sidney Howell, upon spotting one of State Rep. Cecily Hill's yard signs in front of the business, yanked it up, replaced it with a Rindy Howell (his wife) campaign sign, then stormed into the business demanding of the owner the name of the person who put the Hill sign there.  Unfortunately, the owner gave him the name of the female Hill campaign worker.

Apparently, Councilman Howell knew where the woman lived. Reportedly, he immediately drove over to the woman's house and summoned her to her front door. There, he reportedly reverted to his old boozing, union thug persona and put a protracted and serious cussing on the woman.

Reportedly, when he refused the woman's instructions to leave her property, she called 911. The St. Marys police department responded, made Howell leave, and filed a report.

Reportedly, during his tirade, he told the woman that he would use his authority as a councilman to have city employees remove all Hill campaign signs from St. Marys.

Looking back on the Bird / Stanford episode at the airport, it now appears that Bird and Howell are more perfectly matched council bookends than I ever realized.

Sidney is normally a very pleasant, laid-back guy, actually. I have no clue what set him off.

Doesn't surprise me, I heard Gull Weaver had signs stolen. What was the business?

My informant did not give me the name of the business.

There were also reports of Sidney picking up Tommy Gregory signs during that campaign. Sidney hosted a big barbecue for Smith at his house during the campaign.

Some people have difficulty distinguishing between "mine" and "thine." Such people should not be entrusted with other people's property or interest. They are not trust-worthy and possibly unreliable.

Wow...that is going over the edge a bit. Sounds like that Michael Douglas movie: Fallen Down when Douglas goes off in the restaurant wanting breakfast when it was lunchtime...wow. Kind of a psycho city councilman.

Speaking of campaign signs, so far, I've put our three. One was stolen by the next day. The damned things cost approx. $6.00 each. I would have more respect for a thug who accosted me on the street and mugged me for $6.00. To steal a campaign sign is even lower than common thuggery.

The business is an old car wash near the Mill resturant. Sidney became irate when he saw Hill signs out in front of the business. He took the signs up and place his wife's signs on the property. The owner did not want the signs up and removed them. Sidney then went Debbie Shed's house and blew up accussing her of taking up the signs. Big mistake. She did not. Last word was Ms. Shed was considering a criminal tresspass warrant.

I was just reading this post on your blog..Ive heard about it thru many people who read your blogs... I think this is all the more reason we do not need Howell as a state rep if her husband has to do her dirty deeds or what they are accusing someone of and not her being able to stand up for what she thinks is right or just-- then why in the world do we want someone like this as a state rep for camden.. we need someone who can stand up for their actions and what they think is right because surly her husband wont be fighting for us in Atlanta right?! I think Ms. Shed should file trespassing on him he was in the wrong to assume in the first place and blow up on her in this manner PERIOD no matter what he may assume!!.. sounds like someone is fighting dirty --- do we really want someone like that on our side.. I mean really!!! think about it!!??

NO! We want Hill who does nothing! Good grief people. What really matters is who will represent us. Hill has had her people pick up signs for years. She has been a big A_ _ about signs in the past. So find something better to say. Facts are still we have a need for representation and we do not have it with her. Get over the signs! Hase don't you have anything better to do?
