I have come to the conclusion that this is what the people want. They enjoy electing "these" type of people.
If you can read, write and comprehend your chances of getting elected are greatly diminished. If you follow along to get along your chances are greatly enhanced. A person like yourself who would be a shining beacon for the community would have a hard time convincing the voters.
Hence "Lillyput." Beyond keeping the dreaded giant of progress tied down, they have no other area of competence that I've detected.
The St. Marys City Council is a fools paradise. It is a haven for inept political types that are a menace to the public. They are as sorry a lot as can be found. You would have to take applications and interview stupid to top that bunch. Four of them are poster folks for "Dumb Asses". So Jay that includes your buddyette.
And the sad thing is they put these boneheads on the Internet so the world can see how small this small town really is.
The sad part about all of this is: THE TAXPAYERS ARE PAYING THE COST FOR THIS INEPTNESS!!!
I don't think things will change for the better in the upcoming election. Qualifying begins August 31st and thus far I have only heard of "recycles" considering qualifying.
You know, I just remembered that some 15 and-a-half years ago, when I attended my first Lillyput city council meeting, there was a fellow there pleadig his case involving a silted in, weed-overgrown, water moccasin infested, city maintained (ostensibly) drainage ditch in front of his house downtown. The fellow's name was Carl somebody. His attempts to get the then city manager, Mike "Ming the Merciless" Mahany had gotten no results. I don't recall that he got much further addressing council. That occassioned my first letter-to-the-editor.
Some things never change.
Oh, by the way, I have not heard this, but all the signs I'm seeing indicate that Sandy Feller will probably run for city council or possibly even mayor.
At this point I would vote for Sandy Feller before I would vote for any of the other dumbassess.
It is sad what we have come to when Sandy looks like the best candidate.
Lookinggood compared to that bunch is no big deal. It is just a shame that we have so much to be addressed and they have spent so much time on issues that have gone no where. Airport is prime example. They get in bed with the Jone/Sea Island crowd and they are on the verge of bankruptcy and they just kept on with that foolishness. I remember the Mayor stating that airport would not be moved in most of our life times.
I feel so sorry for all of us that have been taxed to the edge and then some and we literally have taxation without representation.
I say take a chance with any one who will run against that bunch of incompetents.I don't see how we can do worst. At least the Mayor has come around and seems to have his head on his shoulders.
How about this Sandy Feller runs for Council and Jay Moreno runs for Mayor. This combination will give the taxpayers of St. Marys the needed relief.
Fellows we MUST take care of home. The taxpayers need you two to work together for the betterment of St. Marys.
That might make City Council meetings more interesting----but LOOOOOONG! Can you picture the interaction of Moreno, Feller, Hayse, and Bird? Like the 3 stooges plus one.
Obviously, I would be Moe.
