Last night's marathon city council meeting.

Last night's St. Marys City Council meeting - the last of the year and the last meeting for some - was gavelled to order at 6:00 and adjourned at 10:00. It took me back to the days of Jerry And The Pirates. Much of it was quite interesting. All of the newly elected councilmen were in attendance to the bitter end. All of the tree huggers of course left immediately after their "vision of the annointed" performances. So much went on that I think I'll wait until we see Gordon and Emily's respective reportage, then I'll add the color commentary.

What was your take on Gary Blount's message to council? Had someone giving an update last night, sounded pretty interesting.

Well,I thought that his points were very well presenting and interesting. First, let me admit that I have lost track of where St. Marys stands vis-a-vis impact fees. I know the country passed them (albeit some rather puny ones) but I was thinking that St. Marys had also. I meant to check on that but forgot. Anyone know for sure? If we have, then why the hell was anyone negotiating such a sweetheart deal with Brant Creek Apartments? If we have not yet put impact fees into place, then, appparently, we are still negotiating. I'm not at all convinced that because the city did not have water/sewer capacityin 2006that we werein any way morally or ethically obligated to give Brant Creek 2006 fees when they began constructgion in 2009.

Although, truth be knowm as Blount pointed out, this is far from the first time it has been done.
