Looks like this year we have gotten our tax dollars worth of work from these guys (GBI/FBI). It has taken them long enough to finally see the light. Can Not Wait until they finish up in Camden County.

Jay, I didn't see another way to contact you...could you explore why the CCHS athletic dpt makes purchases like championship rings and other things like that outside Camden, when they ask for so much from local individuals and businesses.

Seems I recall a story the other day (in the T&G, I think) which stated that the booster club or "quarterback club" (or whatever it's called) were the one's coming up with the funds to buy the championship rings - not the taxpayers via the athletic department. I'm sure that every championship team in evey state is immediately contacted by some company (ies) which make and sell these rings. To have bought it through a middle man - i.e, a local jewlery store - at a retail mark-up would have made no economic sense and certainly was not politically necessary as the boosters are private citizens spending private money.

Yeah, they have certainly found a "target rich" environment among Georgia sheriffs and judges.

Jay,

Any word on Tommy's swearing in ceremony? I hope it is open to the public.

There is no question that the Feds will get to Smith. They don't call witnesses before a grand jury unless they intend to indict. They are a number of "underlings" that should be sweating bullets. The Feds like to indict small frys so they will sing on the big one. The Dyals are not the one only ones that will sing. Cisco and Dirkes are full of canary seeds. Dirkes has already appeared in Savannah. Both Dirkes and Roger Dyal were up at the pay window getting their witness fees in Savannah. Dirkes was not up there to just say hello. Dirkes got a slap on the hand for his recent criminal conviction. He had to sing his way out of a long term sentence. Cisco has already said he will not go back to prison. They will need a choir loft for all that will sing.
Happy New Year Sheriff Smith. You certainly worked hard for the position you are in. For that hard work you deserve what is coming. Congradulations on your up coming ventures with the Feds. When deal with likes of Cisco, Dirkes, etc. you have placed your future on a slippery sloap. There is no loyality amongst theives. That is to be soon proven in Smith's case.

Okay, I just got off of the phone with Jodi.

Tommy's swearing-in ceremony will actually take place on December 30th, at 10:00 AM. He will be sworn in by ProbateJudge, Martin Gillette,
in the Porobate Courtroom, onthe first floor, just to the right of Judge Gillettes office.

Jodi asked me to point out that while it is, of course, open to the public, that because of the nature of the probate court's work, the courtroom itself is rather small. If you want a seat, get there early.

I you all recall, Tommy has announced that he will arrive at the CCSO as the new sheriff at the stroke of midnight on 31 December.

Jay,
You say the boosters are spending private money, but look back at the audit reports. How many $$$ went to the quarterback club?

But they probably already spent that money, so you are probably right.
