Smith burning records?

It has come to my attention - from a highly reliable source - that over the last week or so, trusted Bill Smith aides and possible fellow defendants, no doubt at Smith's direction, have been busy burning bushels of records. My source cannot confirm just what is being burned - only that burning of files is going on. Perhaps after Tommy takes office tonight, he will be able to discern what is missing. Fear not - if the feds did not think that they had gracious plenty of proof, they would have swooped on those records long ago.

By law, some records must be burned.

This is not at all suprising. They will probably finish it off tonight with a bond fire at Charlie's. HA!
I WISH Tommy the BEST OF LUCK.
I know he CAN AND WILL DO IT, he will be a GREAT SHERIFF, he is a honest man. With Tommy taking office makes it a HAPPY NEW YEAR for all of Camden County.

and Jay, you have a Happy New Year and keep up the good work with the news.:)I enjoy your blog.

That explains why BTW fired Chuck Byerly several days ago. He didn't want him seeing what he and Easterling were up to.

Oh, yeah - that must be it. The law requires BTW to burn records just hours before leaving office - and we all know what a stickler Big Thug Willie has alaways ben for abiding by the very letter of the law.

There was some reference over on TOPIX to Byerly having been fired for a week then rehired. If true, that may well fit your theory of not wanting him as a witness to destruction of evidence.

Thanks for the New Years wishes. Same to you and don't wory: I fully imntend to.

I'm truly surprised that he didn't have them burn the building down!

I am just telling you what the law states, Jay. Sorry that it's not what you want to hear. Chuck was not fired, he was sent home with pay. Records have been burned at the S.O. for years and they will be burned again per Georgia law.

Nice try thuggie scum. You don't wait until the last week of your reign to start burning stuff. Do you really expect us to buy that B.S. you selling. I DON'T THINK SO Numbnuts.

Would someone please explain to me WHY these records are burned and what they consist of?

They consist of records that Smith did not want anyone to see and that is why the records were burned.

Scum Bag to the very end.

most records yoy have to hang on to from 5 to 7 years after that they have to be destroyed by fire.
happens every year kingsland and st.marys does it also what are they hiding you think ?

Whereas KPD and SMPD may very well have little to nothing to hide, all fully rational Camdenians (i.e., non-Thuggies) know damned well that Smith clearly does.
