This is one where, if I were on the commission, I would have to agree to agreeably disagree with Steve Berry.

Not "public servant" has cost the taxpayers of this county more money over the last 10 -12 years than David Rainer. His "anything Bill Smith wants" attitude and general failure to do anything progressive has cost the taxpayers large sums of money in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
When built, the jail was designed to expand the pods when needed. They are obviously needed now and nothing is being done.
BTW and Rainer did nothing to look out for the taxpayers interests the last 10 years and now the taxpayers will be paying for lawsuits, housing prisoners in other jails and then the cost of a new jail while Rainer drools on himself and babbles. He is a
disgrace and should resign immediately. The taxpayers of this county, especially in this economy, can't afford him.
So they want a study done, that according to Rainer..."It should paint a very clear picture". Berry agrees to the study. But then they may not or won't agree to follow or go along with what the study says or recommends?
Why spend the money to have the study done then?
Seems simple...if the jail can hold "X" amount of people and there are 110 more than "X" you need more room or a solution.
Berry wants to blame it on the judges. Look you can blame, blame, blame all day long and put on your little Commissioner power play show....but they still have to fix the problem. Quit passing the blame and come up with a solution to fix the problem.
Agreed - on both counts.
these people like Rainer and Dingle Berry, need to get off their asses and do whats right for a change and fix a big problem this county has and get that jail enlarged, and up to federal standards. was designed to be added on to, and there is enought room there to add a two or three story pod and make 200 more bed's, now lets get off or fat lazy asses and getter done.
