Council committee to meet to do battle with demon rum.

On Wednesday, at 10:00 AM, in the DDA building (the old police station) conference room (use rear entrance), a committee of the St. Marys City Council, the Economic Development Committee, consisting of Bird, Deloughy, and Weaver, will meet to discuss proposed changes to the city's perennially targeted alcohol ordinance. Attendance is open to the public and public input is solicited. Such weighty issues as the required distances from a bar to buildings housing various other enterprises and how they will be measured (from portal to portal or nearest point to nearest point) will be debated. You will no doubt be forgiven if you leave the meeting with the misconception that St. Marys is actually a small, fundamentalist, theocracy.
