AGAIN this is really shameful. Whats most amazing to those reading this is not ONE person has had the courage to come before the County Commissioners and encourage them to vote for this travesty against the taxpayers.

ALL NEGOTIATIONS have been conducted undoubtedly behind closed doors.

If all the Commissioners have are letters from DEVELOPERS, GROUPS and ORGANIZATIONS. Why aren't any of these people attending the meetings to state their case.

I want to see who is asking for the taxpayers to foot the bill for all future infrastructure. Because WE intend to boycott every organization that appears before the Commissioners in support of this action.

If the County Commissioners proceed with this action WITHOUT any human actually appearing before the Board. This will be considerable an objectable act against the taxpayers!!!

This again also shows the ineptness of the Chamber of Commerce. What business is going to locate here with the drastic increase this will no doubt cause in the millage rage?

I regret that I will not be able to make tonights meeting. I believe the ship has sailed for "the 4" with regards to ending impact fees. However, if they are hell bent are ending the fees, perhaps we would be better off trying to argue for the fees being suspended (for a defined period of time) rather than a time to be announced later. My fear is that once suspended there will always be a builder with a person hat is "ready to close the deal", so the fees will never resurface. For the sake of discussion lets say we use a six month time frame. It would be easy to determine the new home starts in the six months prior to the fees being suspended, and to compare that to the six months that the fees were absent. At the conclusion the commisoners would have black and white data to evaluate their long term policy. I agree that its best not to suspend them at all, but perhaps we should evolve to a discussion where we don't win it all, but don't loose it all. Just a thought.

No offense intended, but it is pprecisely that wishy-washy, "can't we all get along" attitude that has brought this country to its present sorry state. A thing is either right or wrong, optimal or less than optimal. What they are proposing is wrong and unfair to the taxpayers whether it were to cause more housing starts or not - which it clearly will not.

I believe that this is clearly a winner-take-all situation as should be all matters before a legislative body. I will do my damnedest to to prevail by a convincing argument, the opposition will do the same, and the better argument will hopefully prevail.

I will be there tonight. I'll let you know ASAP what comments were made during the public hearing - a farce to be sure. I fear that you are correct: the fix is in and they will vote tonight to suspent the fees in utter definace of the overwhelming public sentiment against it.
