Folkston: Okefenokee Adventures moves into new, larger building.

http://www.jacksonville.com/news/georgia/2009-04-08/story/new_okefenokee_learning_center_means_room_to_grow I highly recommend one of their canoe trips into the Okefenokee. Years ago, in the early 70's, two fellow Vietnam vets and Armstrong college classmates and I did an overnight canoe trip out of there in early May. No bugs out. Gators were. Flowers were in bloom. You paddle out one day to a raised platform for camping. About halfway there, you pass the folks who spent the night there the night before on their way back in. They are the only other humans you will see during the whole trip. Both the flora and fauna are quite interesting. As I recall, you have to make reservations from 6 months to a year in advance.
