Every body but Smith and Cisco. Seems that the criminals have the free range in Camden. Sheriffs in other circuits don't have that pleasure. We are a haven for criminals. We can't attach industry but we can attach crooks.

Yep....the man did not do his job. Let's blame it on someone else.

Anyone who can not or will not recognize Bill Smith's skulduggery as the proximate cause of Brumbleow's firing is not looking very hard.

Smith had nothing to do with this. Opponents of the transportation plan orchestrated this and Brumbelow (who was moving the plan forward) was the victim of that plan implemented by a spiteful local park service employee and her boss (and rumored to be one time lover) at the regional level and a hack reporter with no interest in the truth. Did he bend the rules a little? Maybe. Was he well regarded in the community? Definitely. Hell,
we had a sitting president who engaged in oral sex in the oval office and he didn't get fired. What would you expect from an appeal process that is a PART of the government. Mr. Brumbelow is better off NOT being a part of the poorly run and highly political National Park Service.

It sounds as if yuo should probably Google the meaning of "proximate cause."

Let's assune for the moment that the purportedly factual parts of your reply are indeed true.

Question: If Bill Smith had not talked poor old senile Doc Jenkins into the scheme to provide a fresh air home for his disabled son ( on the false premise that it would give Jenkins immunity from eviction from the property at the end of his lease), would the issue which Brumbelow's enemies(according to you) used to get rid of him even existed? The answer is of course no. Ergo, Smiht's actions were the proximate cause of tghe existence of the matter which led to Brumbelow's dismissal.

Smith is a consummate user of people.

Besides; it was after all, his office!

Okay, whose office? Smith, Jenkins, Brumbelow,Gordon Jackson?
Who? And what were you attempting to convey?

Brumbelow is just another one of those types that Smith was able to use. Jenkins was another. They are all at fault. Those are the type of folks Smith finds. Look at those he had in his office that did his bidding. Need I say more. I hope the whole damn bunch are rounded up and hauled before the court. I had also hoped for Santa Claus to bring me a horse once. The nearest I came to that was when I went looking for the horse I stepped into a pile of horse poo.

I have to wonder what in the hell was the quid pro quo that Smith dangled under Brumbelow's nose to get him to put at risk what I'm sure was a very well compensated federal gig with a damned good pension plan.

Bill Clinton; of course!
