The St Marys paper misprinted that there is a pandemic today when in fact the WTO is meeting today to decide whether or not to elevate the threat level to pandemic status. Those amateur reporters are the same ones who might yell FIRE in a crowded theater. Don't they have an editor or someone who checks this stuff before it gets printed?

You might want to re-read that article. My copy reads "In the event of a pandemic reaching Camden County, Duffield said there is an emergency plan that begins wiht isolating the cases and shutting down public facilities and gathering locations for as long as needed to clear the area."

That is the only usage of the word pandemic in the entire article. In order for them to have done what you claim, the copy would have had to read "THE pandemic," not "A pandemic."
