Oh, by the way..

yesterday, at 1630, I had a meeting to attend at the college in Brunswick. En route, I stopped by the court house in Woodbine to take my completed request for expungement of the record of my politically motivated false arrest in 1995. That was complete with page 2 - the one some expert on TOPIX assured folks did not exist - the one that you can only get filled out by the sheriff's office - the one that Sheriff Gregory received on his second day in office and hand delivered to me at the county commissioners meeeting on his 6th day in office - the page two Smith had withheld just to be an S.O.B. for over 13 years - that page 2. Well, we were also assured by another TOPIX expert that because Jim Proctor was working now as the personal bailiff of Judge Amanda Williams, and insofar as court was not in session every day, it followed logically that he must now be part time. Well, if he is (not), one of his "part time" duties is manning security at the front desk in the lobby. He's the guy who held the metal gate open for me to bypass the metal detector. Yessir, you just can't beat that TOPIX for factual reporting.

Jay,
There may be more to this than just them not paying the bills. I heard from people that know the owners that Cisco is involved. Of course he still had a hand in the business. from what I understand the new owners did not actually own it. I am meeting with a man tonight at work about it. Will try and post tonight if possible.

jay, when i say this dont get mad, just listen. remember that crap over on topix that someone posted: "what and who tommy promised things too"
its post like yours that makes us think that.
during the time of taking care of you. what was the overcrowded jail doing. were the cars with over 300,000 miles on them doing ok.
you saying that on his 2nd and 6th day in office he is undoing a wrong to you. that to me sounds as if you are bragging that he kept his word to you.
if that is true the onlything that changed is the players not the game.

Thanks, Rick. That's interesting. I look forward to reading what you find out.

No, SeaPro, that is not the case at all. The "game" has changed dramatically. You now have a sheriff who, going forward, will not abuse his office, will not trample all over the civil rights of perceived enemies, and will, to the extent possible, make right wrongs done by his predecessor. By the way, he had the expungement request in his truck when you and I and Jodi had llunch with him on the 6th at Aunt Bee's at YOUR request. Does that make you one of the "players" in the same old game?
Are you concerned about what went wanting at the CCSO during the time he answered YOUR questions?

Not mad - just baffled at some of your logic.

jay, honest i dont care my only point was ,can you see where people would think that? what would you think if i said if i got
or helped a person get elected that they would undo a wrong against me. then on the 2nd day in that position i posted that they took time to do it.
see where that may get to think the other rumors may have been correct.
in my opinion it would of been best not to say anything.thats all i mean sometimes its best to just listen and say thanks.

Obviously, you do care, in a passive-aggressive kind of a way.

Let's get this straight: I had never heard of Tommy Gregory before it coming out in the paper that he was going to run. I spoke to him for the very first itme after I had written something (on TOPIX, I think) which he did not particularly appreciate. He promptly called me to discuss it. No, I don't remember what it was.
I met him for the first time at a public meet-and-greet he had at the Rec Center which was well advertized and open to the public.
That fact that he seemed to be a sincere, honest and competent feloow was just a bonus. The fact is that it is hard to imagine a candidate so damned sorry that I would not have backed him against Smith with the same zeal, no matter who he was.

Moreover, there is absolutely not a scintilla of doubt in my mind that had Sheriff Gregory never heard of me, much less benefitted from my efforts in his behalf, he would have had his people sign the request for expungement any way as he no doubt would have any other decent sheriff replacing Smith.

My point in publiciszing how quickly the request had been handled was two fold: to correct those liars on TOPIX who claimed to have certain knowledge that an expungement request does not have to be signed off on by the sheriff's office (it does), and, to use it as an exemplar of just how very different a Grefgory administration is and will be. It was not to say "Oh, hey! Look at me: I have real clout with the new Sheriff." I dont.
