Clearly, some poor, deluded, bought-and-paid-for souls will never come to grips with Bill Smith's true thuggish nature and self-serving motivations.

If they are so convinced this was not an illegal expenditure, They should write their congressman and fight for it. Better yet, let them repay the funds.

Don't worry: I'm sure the ministers of the churches involved will step forward any day now and offer to repay the funds out of their collection plates.

Suuurrre, they will. And, this lady needs to get a life.! Preferably, one that she and her husband pays for themselves instead of the poor taxpayers of Camden County.

Jay, did you take Rick's link off your blog? I didn't see it when I was on here tonight.

Doesn't this person understand that the Shared Assets (Drug Money)
was not Bill Smiths to give away. What do they not understand about this concept. If I were Tommy I would ask this gal to send me the money back that was given her to take this trip that saved her marriage so the he can send it back to the Feds. I'm sure that the Feds are running around like crazy trying to recover these funds that were mispent to help out the economy. LOL How stupid is stupid. They would much rather think that it is the Feds fault instead of putting the blame on his King Smith.

Unless the participants are law enforcement personnel, the funds were used illegally. The law is very clear on how the funds are to be used. LAW ENFORCEMENT training and equipment, nothing about retreats for anyone outside law enforcemnet.

RE: Link to Rick's blog: I ws doing some cleaning up and thought it was time to de-link Tommy's campaign web site. Had to delete Ricks's at same time. Forgot to put it back. Thanks for reminder.

Damn,Bill. It's a shame you're not sherriff anymore. I would sure enjoy a retreat to Vegas.

They should make everyone that was listed on there for college tuition, boxing club fees and church donations should be the first ones they come after if the county is responsible for back payment. First up Maryann Seaman..

i agree, but the legal problem is that it would be impossible to prove the requisite mens rea (intent) on the part of the recipients of the illegal, vote-buying expenditures. All they would have to do is to protest that they had an expectation that the actions of the sheriff would be entirely legal - even though most knew damned well what was going on was not.
