Does Gamble announcement assure Smith win?

I just moments ago received my hard-copy of the T&G by mail. Their online version is not up yet. It says that Rich Gamble announced his candidacy for sheriff last week. How did that manage to remain a scecret? I think that Rich Gamble is a highly qualified candidate and would no doubt do a good job. I voted for him last time. But, having said that, and given that I see no possibility of either Gamble or Gregory pulling out for the good of the county, then barring an indictment and conviction, I think that we have just seen a move which will give us another four years of an even more arrogant and vindictive scofflaw - Bill Smith - as sheriff. Comments? Now, T&G is up. Here's the link: http://www.tribune-georgian.com/articles/2008/03/19/news/top_stories/1topstory3.19.txt

If Bill does not get indicted before qualifying he will win.

I have heard alot of people make statements against Tommy because of his association with Steve. The G-O-B group as their stickers state, are against Tommy. I think the worst mistake Tommy made was allowing Steve to appoint his wife to a position with the County.

ALOT of people are pissed about this. They fear if Tommy wins Steve will be both Chairman of the Commission and Sheriff.

I don't know how or what Tommy can do to distance himself from this. But it is really going to hinder his chances, I believe. The tribe will NOT support anything they believe Steve endorses.

I believe that if Gamble pulls more than a handful of votes that otherwise would have gone to Gregory, Smith will indeed win.

The G O B group - stickers? I'm not following you.

Are people really pissed about that and do they really beleive that Berry would be the de facto Sheriff on their own, or is that what Mary Ann's Thuggies are feeding them.

My understanding is that Gregory and Berry are anything but close, in reality. My recollection of comments Berry has made about Gregory's candidacy - in a commission meeting - speaking directly to Tommy seated in the front row - tend to support that.

The only way that Smith will ever be defeated is by a massive registration campaign and turnout drive aimned at curently non-voting "damned outsiders."

Let's just hope that Smith be indicted and convicted - and soon.

The G-O-B, Good ol Boys. The stickers are a black circle with white writing. The GOB is really noticeable and bold. You probably saw them but didn't realize what it is. They are normally in the back windshields of their trucks. I believe you have to be a member or family member of the Kamden Kounty Kow Klub to get one.

No, I haven't seen those, but I would be willing to make a small contribution towards the printing of some bumper stickers which read something like "I'm a 'damned outsider' and I vote!"

What does it actually say on these "G.O.B" stickers?

Take a look at how Gamble is ostensibly beating Gregory in the polls I'm running right now.

My guess is that the polls are being deliberately skewed by a Thuggie or two, but we'll see.

I believe Rich Gamble would be the best of the two options we have right now. I believe he would step in and let the intercircle hit the road, clean out their desk and turn in their car keys and clear the area. I also believe if there is or has been any criminal activity done by these goons, he will investagate, and try to get them prosecuted IAW the laws of our Government. Tommy I hope would do the same, however he was part of the clan for quite a few years, and therein I have my doubts on him.

don't be suprized, if you don't see a lot of trusty's cleanning the graveyards from now until election time. also look for Mary Ann out at the grvesites getting names off the headstones, so they can make up enough absentie ballots to get BTW over the hump.
I wouldn't put anything past those goons.

Your comment makes sense - with the caveat that you might very well be a Thuggie operative boosting votes for Gamble to assure a sufficient split of the anti-Smith vote to assure Smith's victory.

I plan on going to here what Gamble has to say, as well.

I think - no, I know with ontological certitude - that either Gregory or Gamble would be a huge improvement over Smith. However, I fear that unless they both run from the same party in the primary, both of them on the ballot in November will assure a Smith victory.

I meant "going to HEAR.." of course. Nap time!

No matter how Tommy got to where he is today...he was trained by Bill Smith on the ins and outs of being a corrupt sheriff. Whether he would run his department like that or not is yet to be seen. Rich Gamble on the other hand has NO ties to ANY of the "Good Ole Boys" and I think would be the best candidate for the job RIGHT NOW. We need someone in there that is willing to get rid of ALL corruption within the CCSO and other city/county offices/departments. We need someone in there that is willing to rid the CCSO of all corrupt persons in order to clean up this mess. We need someone that is willing to do the firing that needs to be done with out feeling bad, because they have known that person all their life. Im not saying Tommy Gregory would not be a good sheriff later on, I am saying that Rich Gamble would be the best sheriff for RIGHT NOW. I have complete confidence that if elected he would put forth his best effort in ridding this county of the mess and corruption that Bill Smith has created for the last 20 years. I believe that Rich Gamble would bring dignity back to Camden County. Vote for Rich Gamble for '08.

Hey Jay,

Have you ever thought of creating a "message board" for all to post freely if they have something to say. I HATE posting on TOPIX anymore. Too much trash to read through.

CG, your points are well taken.

Perhaps Gamble for one term or two to clean it up, with Gregory hired back on as an understudy for when the older Gamble finally hangs it up for good?

There are some sad realities at work though.

It will be hard enough for many white tribals to actually work up the courage to follow their consciences and vote AGAINST Bill Smith for ANY candidate. Risking the stigma and opprobrium from the rest of the tribe for being "found out" voting for an American who happens to be black would behighly unlikely for most of the tribe.

The overwhelming majority of blacks who will actually vote are locals. They will obey their pastors' bought and paid for instructions to vote for Smith.

Ergo, Gamble can only win with virtually 100% of the damned outsider votes of all races.

If, he, Smith, AND Gregory are still in it in November, he and Gregory will knock each other out.

Anyone see it unfolding differently?

The only way I would "host" a forum would be if I had complete editorial control to keeep it degenerate-free.

Isn't it interesting to see what those same, cyber-vandalous degenerates are capable of on their own on Topix Kingsland now that they've driven all of the decent, triple digit IQed folks away?

Alot of you may have read the following and laughed at the content.

"don't be suprized, if you don't see a lot of trusty's cleanning the graveyards from now until election time. also look for Mary Ann out at the grvesites getting names off the headstones, so they can make up enough absentie ballots to get BTW over the hump.

However, this is exactly what happens here in the election process. Pay very close attention to the absentie count. They also elevate absentee votes by sending people to elderly folks homes to have their surrogates fill out the ballots according to a SPECIFIC list. When in fact the elderly person thinks they are filling it out according to their wishes.

I agree with the person above. RIGHT NOW we need a Rich Gamble. Someone that has ABSOLUTELY NO ties to the lacks of what we have witness. I hope the person is accurately speaking the sentiments of Gamble when he says:

"We need someone in there that is willing to get rid of ALL corruption within the CCSO and other city/county offices/departments. We need someone in there that is willing to rid the CCSO of all corrupt persons in order to clean up this mess."

This in fact should become a MOTTO..

Purge The turds from depths Of The CCSO, Clean it up, make our county a proud county again, Not the cesspool of sin that it is now, we need good, moral people policing our county, not the den of thieves that rule presently. We don't need the Fairleys driving on our streets, high as a Georgia pine, and when a good officer arrest them, they are released before all the booking paper is completed. People we don't need this kind of G.O.B. system for our sheriff, no more. Clean the slate in 08

I will be voting for Rich Gamble. Tommy is a good person, but he does not have the background, education, and drive like Rich. I have worked for and with both of them. Tommy promotes the fact that he holds more state certifications than any officer in the county. Could that be because he was going to classes while alot of us were out busting our humps on the street. I think that could be challenged as well.Rich will make the changes that are needed. Rich will rid the sheriffs office from the good ole boy system. We just got to get Bill Smith out. He will get a lot of votes though. He has held the keys to that jail for many years and has done many favors.Billy has bought a lot of votes. I will be glad to see him gone. Rich will do the best job for the people if given the chance. He tried last election to reveal the corruption of the sheriffs office and most voters viewed it at mud slinging, so they did not vote for him,,, well he was not mud slinging ,,,he was telling the truth,, and now 4 yrs later the truth is coming out via a grand jury investigation.
