Another Camden hardware store bites the dust.

84 Lumber, in Kingsland, is a goner. http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/stories/2008/04/07/daily45.html?ana=from_rss Let's see, I believe that is only the second one to close since Lowe's opened. The first was the Ace Hardware in St. Marys. Have I missed any? So much for that gigantic building spurt that was going to make paying off infrastructure bonds a piece of cake. I stuck my head into 84 Lumber once, but immediately realized it was strictly contractor oriented. Anyone have any ideas what would be an ideal match for that structure, or care to guess what kind of ill-suited fool will next pee away a vast sum in it? Perhaps Marion could open his own highly bigoted church in it.

The Ace at Borrell Creek closed but will reopen soon in the old Wright & Evans building across from the St Marys PO.

Hey, that's good news. Ace is the Place, and that's only a pistol shot from my palce, I could probably drive there and back on about a quart of gas.

By the way, where exactly DID Lil' Seabag move to? They said on the marque, but I didn't know where the reference point was that they were talking about.

Hey, maybe the Kingsland Ace could move into the old 84 Lumber building and expand.

If they do, any ideas for the CURRENT Kingsland ACE building?

Kingsland Ace has been bought out by Farmers and Builders. Think they are still going to run it as Ace Hardward. Hope so. The only change so far is they are not open on Sundays.

Lil Seabag moved into the vacant nightclub located next to Atlantic Auto.

Lil Seabags moved into the old bar building between Coastal Car Care and Robbie Morgan & Clyde Urquhart's office. You turn in at Atlantic Auto.

Thanks to all for all of that good info.

Question: Who will own the Ace that's going across from the St. Marys Post Office?

Thanks. I suspected as much.

Farmers and Builders recently received a praise letter in the Tribune & Georgian. I believe the materials for the Cumberland "Trusty" Project were purchased at this store. I hear they also opened a location in Folkston.

Okay. Is there a point in there somewhere?

Just making reference to the fact that this is a very progressive company. Nothing more, nothing less. I know the owner Leon very well.

I had no idea that hardware stores were such a topic of interest in Camden County.

Why don't y'all start a thread on my forum?
