The state fuel inspector's obituary.

Jeffery Cavin "Jeff" Davis Blackshear, GAMr. Jeffery Cavin “Jeff” Davis, 52, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008, at his residence following a sudden illness.Born in Japan, he had lived in Pierce County for most of his life. During his career Jeff had worked for Streat’s German Car Repair and had owned J & A Imports. He then went on to work as a Fuel Calibration Inspector for the Georgia Department of Agriculture. Jeff was a son of the late Harley Merritt “H.M.” & Margaret Elizabeth Pittman Davis and was also preceded in death by a brother, Harley Davis. Jeff will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and brother.Survivors are two daughters, Holly Davis Sweat & Josh Tippins and her mother, Donna Deloach and Marla Davis & Chad Royal and her mother Rene’ Dixon all of Blackshear; a sister, Lynn Davis Roberts and her fiance’ Joey Mattox of Blackshear; 2 grandchildren, Cavin Zachary Sweat and Leigha Marie Sweat; an aunt and uncle, Kaye & Gene Bowen of Blackshear; nieces and nephew, Jami Davis Carter, Sara Davis and Justin Roberts; a great niece and great nephew, Mia Roberts and Seth Carter and several other relatives.A memorial service for Mr. Davis will be held Thursday afternoon, March 13, 2008, at 2:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.Memorialization is by cremation.Visitation for Mr. Davis will be held Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.Sympathy may be expressed by signing our online register at www.pearsondial.com.Pearson-Dial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. It says "recent illness", what do suppose brought on this "illness", maybe rat poison. Too bad he was cremated. There maybe more to the story.
