My very first local letter-to-the-editor.

I also sent a copy to the then "Camden County Tribune." Both papers published it.
NOTE: In both instances where I quote Joe Crawford (who was elected to city council - twice) as referring to "these outsiders," what he actually spat out was "these DAMNED OUTSIDERS." I had to omit that because I knew that the papers would edit it out. So, when you hear me using the expression "damned outsiders" to describe the "native" take on those of us who don't trace our roots in Camden back several generations, know that it was not of my invention.

I'm watching all these comments and news articles and listening to peopel around town. Why all the vicious attacks on Eco Weenies on these blogs? I dont understand what the Earth Keepers ever did to earn so much hatred and spite. They got recycling started so our landfill will last longer. Wont that save us some money? And a nice little park area saved next to the cemetary and put a gazebo on it and you can buy a brick in memory of someone you care about. Whats wrong with that? I read that resolution. They didn't say the airport shouldnt move they said it just shouldnt go to that site one by Woodbine because of wetlands and endangered species and stuff like that. From what else I read it would also change all the whole flood pattern for everyone that lives around there. Does St. Marys have a right to make those people out there get flooded out of their property because we want to put an airport out there. Maybe its a good idea to move the airport but they had more than one choice of places it could go. Howcome no one is trying to use one of the other spots? From everything published by all the studies the one their trying to use is the worst one both enviromentally and because it will cost more to build there.

So the Tribune and Georgian supporte the Earth Keepers because they think recycling and clean water is a good idea or whatever who cares. So the resolution came out about not moving to Woobine it still didnt say to not move or to vote for anyone or not. On the other hand the guy that wrote that story for the Times Union today seemed like he was in favor of moving it so whats the difference? You agree with one or the other. Who believes everything that comes out in the press anyway no matter what paper or station its on?
I wish people would talk about issues without all these personal attacks that are so unnecessary and dont help anything.

Dang, and here all this time I thought your delerious tirades were due to your old age and pent up sexual frustrations. You are such a loser that it befuddles me how you could even think of running for CCC. Keep the dream alive, it will bring us all months of comedic relief.
