With all due respect, Mr. Gamble...

if you couldn't figure out how to get the correct information on how to run as an independent and successfully obtain 1,000 valid signatures - on the correct forms - why should folks be inclined to believe that you could run the Camden County Sheriff's Office and run it well? http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/071008/geo_301995450.shtml

Possibly because Mr. Gamble was given the wrong information by Mr. Gillette's office. Mr. Gillette was quoted in the media as saying it is not his job to tell someone how to qualify.

He's pretty tight with BTW also

That is the point. I have now been told that it will be next week before the board of registrars "will have time" to work on verifying the signatures. Camden County continues to look like a bunch of backwoods dumb a$$es run the place.

Well, there's not really that big of a rush. Gamble would not have been on the ballot until November. Of course, now he will not be on it at all - trust me.

Judge Gillette is correct in stating that he had no obligation to tell Gamble what all was involved in running as an independent. Moreover - trust me - Gillette did not know himself.

If I were to decide to run, I can guarantee you, sight unseen, that I could go on-line and get every conceivable bit of information I needed from the Georgia Secretary of State's Office and the Ethics Commission. That Gamble did not have the sense to know to do that or at least to ask someone who to contact does not speak well to this voter of his potential as a constitutional officer in the State of Georgia, or anywhere, for that matter.
