Gratitude, or a calculated transfer of drug funds to the Smith campaign?
You be the judge.
One Kelly Laxton is listed on the Smith contributions list as "Camden Co. Sheriff/Office Administration."
I just checked the cancelled checks for the federal drug funds for the year ended 06/30/08.
During that one year, there were a total of seven checks written on behalf of that same Kelly Laxton totalling $7,628.40. You can find them posted on Rick's blog.
Three checks totalling $1,021.40 were made out to her personally, with the notation that they were to reimburse her for text book purchases.
The remaining four checks, totalling $6,607.00, were made out to either Valdosta State or Troy State universities.
On June 18th, 2008, Kelly Laxton contributed $700.00 to the Smith campaign. That contribution is posted on this blog.

Sorry, commenter. It was not that I doubt the veracity of your info about a secretary and a deputy, but it was way too hot to publish without ironclad documentation.
This is no suprise but Cecily Hill and Charlie Smith giving Smith money is a real shocker. Smith puts himself out as being responsible and bright. This is neither. I guess Hill is supporting Smith because, like Chura, he was good to her. This is rank. I am so disappointed in this community to think that these two have been leaders. They know what is happening is wrong and look where they stand. This community does have so called leaders who are morally bankrupt.
I don't know what that other commenter reported, but if it was about a young lady who is now a secretary for the thug, being caught in the industrial park with a deputy, if was very true, and the deputy got promoted and the young lady got hired and divorced from her husband at that time, got all the BTW training and incentives. Thugs begat thugs KPD personel caught them, it should have been on 911 tapes, back in 2005 late, or early 2006.

That deputy seems to have a real problem with rash impulsivity. Just what you look for in a guy with a badge and a gun.

I though that it was very generous of her to give back some of the money to Smith. It shows she is not all that selfish. She could have just kept it all. That should be a plus for her. A very small plus but a plus. Did Sutton'g wife give back any? Or did she just keep it all for the good job that came out of the grand jury?
Does he own a golf cart? Was there a movie about her, something like Machine gun - - - --??

Jay you missed some of it she gave more than the $700.00 her new husband and business owner Clyde Anderson (Anderson heating and air) gave an additional $1500.00 dollars I beleive was the amount
