It figures...

This past Monday, I received a letter from the U.S. Treasury. I've since thrown it away, but, if memory serves me, the envelope stressed that it was important correspondence, not to be disregarded. On the back, it actually said something about "Your economic stimulus check." I opened it, fully expecting to find my stimulus check. Instead, I found a letter advising me to be patient; that it was on the way; and would be here no later than 07/05/08. I shook my head in disbelief, wondering how many tens of millions of dollars the feds had peed away on that idiocy. Naturally, when the mail arrived at my door (yes, mine is delivered to my door, not the kiosk), I was fully prepared to be economically stimulated. But, as you've guessed, it did not arrive. Have many more of you had this experience?

Jay I feel your pain. I was supposed to get mine direct deposit over two months ago and I still haven't received mine. I too received a letter. Upon checking the IRS.gov site, it says my check will be mailed no later than 07/11/08.Typical bureaucratic b.s. from the Federal Government. Why am I not surprised.
