The purpose of this blog is to provide the author, Jay Moreno, with an outlet to comment upon items of socio-political and socio-economic import in Camden County, Georgia and to generally satisfy a daily compulsion to write.
HISTORIC WATERFRONT, ST. MARYS, GA.
The big question that we all probably know the answer to is, how much will this costs us? What happened with the no costs to the tax payers caveat? Since when is there any thing they do that does not cost us? We can't even afford the upgraded water and sewer system and they are still harping on the airport. I look forward to the elections to dump a couple of those council members. A butt picking chimp would do better than some of our council.
If you study the last page of the attachments carefully, you will see that the FAA has already spent $473,239 on study and planning for the new airport. This amount is supposed to be 95% of the total cost of the project making the total cost, if my calculation is accurate, $498,146. Supposedly, the State of Georgia pays 1/2 of the remaining cost (2.5% of the total)or $12,454. The remaining project cost, $12,454 was to be paid by the local sponsor, in this case the City of St. Marys.
This is what it has already cost us and does not include costs for city officials time and travel or what was spent to obtain several real estate appraisals.
This is the Deloughy plan. He is going to implement this and we are going to find out "no costs" does not mean no costs. Bend over. Here comes the airport shaft and what ever elses pleases Camden Pardnerhip. Just imagine this. The Jones Company is one step away from bankruptcy and he wants the City to be in bed with that bunch. Be is just a hack we need to put to the side walk.

And the costs have just begun.
