A tragic case of Kool-Aid intoxication...

Sandy Denton Kingsland, GA Reply » Report Abuse Judge it! #1 6 min ago Let me start by saying before Dr. Noel Chua was arrested in Sept. 06 I didn't follow local politics, I felt it was all a good old boy system anyway so why bother getting involved. I didn't really read the paper so I certainly didn't have a clue who Gordon Jackson was. I didn't know who Bill Smith was not to mention JAWS or Steven Kelley or Jackie Johnson. I became very involved in helping Dr. Chua with his fight for justice and by doing so I came to meet Sheriff Bill Smith, I talked to Sheriff Smith several times about his connection to Dr. Chua and his son Blake. Bill Smith swore to me that he would help us with Dr. Chua's fight no matter what...He knew that standing up for his friend Dr.Noel Chua would cost him votes, it didn't matter because he was a man of his word..We, Chua supporters and Dr. Chua himself told the sheriff we would understand if he tried to distance himself from the situation. But Sheriff Smith said no, Dr. Chua is my friend and he is getting a raw deal and I will stand beside him..And he did and still does..Some say Dr. Chua is where he is because of his connection to the sheriff, others say the sheriff didn't get re-elected because of his connection to Dr. Chua, I don't know if either are true, but I do know I appreciate the sheriff and Thank him with all my heart for being true to his word to help Dr. Chua all he could..I was with Sheriff Smith Tuesday night when the results came in, He said to me that night, I will still continue to fight for Dr. Chua I promise..I believe you Sheriff and Thank You..I know by writing this you guys will go to town ridiculing me and the sheriff which is fine if that's what it takes to make your life complete, But I will hold my head up high knowing I am doing everything I can to right a wrong that was done to my friend Dr. Noel Chua, and Sheriff Bill Smith is a man of his word to me...

It's good that you have someone to feel that way about. But, I have an entirely different view of Bill Smith. Bill Smith is the person( I say that because in my opinion, he isn't even a man) that made SURE that Dennis Perry went to prison for something he didn't do!! He made SURE that there was no evidence in this case so his word couldn't be disputed!! And, he had help doing it. I feel sympaty for the Swain's that were murdered. I also told them that they as well as Dennis and his family were losers in this case because he is wrongfully convicted and the Swain's because their family's killer is still walking the streets today!! So, in my opinion, Bill Smith is a piece of TRASH that doesn't deserve to live among decent people!!

I hope he has to fight for him from the Federal Penitentiary!!

Now Lets see if I have this right. Bill Smith is a good guy because he stood behind a dope dealing, homosexual doctor who was responsible for killing only one of his homosexual victims. Not to mention two other young guys who tesified Chua supplied them drugs for sex. So those two (Chua & Smith)are okay in your book. Gee I wonder what was wrong with the verdict of those 12 jurors? Smith and Chua innocent. Some would say you are a real wing nut and because the murder and crook glad handed you they are A okay. A dope dealing homosexual and a crooked Sheriff are your friends. What does that make you? One certainly would think there are many who would wonder about your characted. I bet there some folks out there who really do wonder. It is a thought.

I don't think Bill Smith lost because of his relationship with Dr. Chua. I think there were many other reasons.

If Chua had taken the plea offer, he turned it down based on BTW's promise to get him off, he would be out of jail and back in the Philippines.

Now they can be pen pals, from their respective prisons, for the next 10 years or so.

Not only was bill tied up with chua, but his #3 man was married to the cisco's. And when his #3 found out about cisco bribing an inspector and said NOTHING, bill made it CLEAR that he did not think walker did anything wrong. The the inspector mysteriously died. Sounds like there are a lot of crooks being friendly !!!

Anonymous-July 21,08 4:51pm...I'm sorry that you and the Perry family have had to experience this, I feel as strongly toward JAWS and Steven Kelley that you do toward Bill Smith..I can't agree or disagree with Bill Smith's role in Mr. Perry's case because I don't have any facts in that case, but I will tell you I understand your frustration in trying to get people to listen and help right the wrong that we feel has been done to our love one. The judicial system is broken in my opinion. I can only pray that one day we will be able to show what I feel was a complete miscarriage of justice involving Dr. Noel Chua..

Did you not read any of the newspaper accounts of thia case or read any of the transcripts?
Anyone with one eye and half sense would know there was something terribly wrong with this case. Personally, I don't know how they convinced Stephen Kelly to take this case to court! I'll tell you something else..Dale Bundy threatened to see that Gordon Jackson was fired because of the way he reported it in the papers!
I was there every day that they were doing jury selection and I promise you there were many of them that knew Bill Smith..even the ones that were picked!!
And when the change of venue was filed for, it was changed all right...But the trial was moved 10 miles down the road where Bill Smith also had influence in Glynn County!! Tell me what's fair about that trial? IDARE YOU !!

Uh, which case are you talking about?

Jay. I'm speaking of the Dennis Perry trial. You can go to the library and check the archives. When this first happened, Tommy Gregory's dad was the GBI agent on the case. Dennis was cleared right away because he lived in Atlanta at the time and was working the day the Swains were killed. Joe Gregory testified in Dennis' defense because he had the proof in his files of Dennis' whereabouts.
When he retired, he turned his files over to Bill Smith. And, Lo and behold!! wouldn't you know it? They disappeared!!
Just like now, it was an election year and Smith needed that extra push to put him over the edge. And what better way to do that than to solve a 15 year year old murder?
I thought long and hard about that when they arrested that man for killing those 2 drug dealers. Could they be doing the same thing to him? Same situation. Election year, Smith was having a hard time convincing people that he was Wyatt Earp.

Thanks for the clarification.

I knew about the missing eyeglasses, but no the "mising" GBI alibi evidence. That case stinks more every day.

As to arresting Blue, they probably have the right guy, but to claim that they did ace detective work is an outright lie. The public and Blue's family served him up to them in short order. All they had to do was go to where they were told to go pick him up. A troop of Boy Scouts could have handled that.
