Very interesting reading.

Here's the link to the proposed FY 2010 county budget. http://www.co.camden.ga.us/DocumentView.asp?DID=1171 Be patient: this long PDF will take 4 to 5 minutes to download.

I can't believe Robert Daniel is none other than Danny Daniels the fire chief who was forced to resign due to wrong doing. He is now over Human Resources. Only in Camden...

That's good because he is not the Director of Support Services (an expanded position formerly including whnat was known as Human Resources). That title belong to Staci Bowick, MBA, CPPB ("Certified Professional Public Buyer" - think "purchasing agent").
I've had recent dealings with Staci vis-a-vis the health plan in her capacity (one of several) as risk manager. She seems like a pretty sharp gal well worth her salary.

Okay I have been going over the budget listed on the county's web site. I have a few questions concerning the "general Administration" office the proposed salaries has an increase of
$ 24,993.00, Does this mean pay increases or another employee??????? Also Why does this department get 12% toward retirement (Not the county match) when other departments only get 6%??????? There was another department in the commissioners office that had 9%, but I have to go back to find that one since I did not write it down.
Also in the Information Technology department there is also a Increase in wages, currently
$ 93,505.00 and the proposed budget is
$ 133,937.00 that is $ 40,432.00 INCREASE is this a new employee or pay increases??????..Why in the hell do they need so many employees in that office. And with all thoses employees why do they also need "contracted services".
INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW. I am sure Jay will have an answer to cover Steve Howards ass.

In reference to your comment of Staci Bowick, anyone who works in a position SHOULD be able to answer any and all questions you throw at them concerning their job, that does not mean they are worth $ 64,806.56 a year.
There are too many positions and TITLES in that department with high salaries that is a waste. Look at the salaries of employees in other departments that are just as important or more important to this county who only make peanuts vs the gold nuggets, and most of the other employees have been there for years! It does appear that the WORKING employee does not get paid what they are worth.

My, my! When Mr. Howard calls bullshit on you anonymous assassins, you do get excited, don't you?

I don't have the answers to our questions, but I'm sure Mr. Howard will, if he feels compelled to further resposnd now that you TOPIX folks have once again been shown to be full of crap in a most convincing manner.

You know, there is nothing stopping the ostensibly underpaid "working folks" (as opposed to the administrative staff who just smoke. Coke, and lallygag all day)from going and getting degrees and jobs with more responsibiltiy and higher pay. In fact, I believe that the county will even pay for it. Maybe some of you misanthropic miscreants would do better to channel your envy energy into self improveent.
